Talking Heads vs. Datarock

Fear of Music Datarock Datarock

Talking Heads – ‘Cities’

Datarock – ‘Fa Fa Fa’ (edit)

Honestly I don’t know much about the band Datarock, but when I heard this tune ‘Fa Fa Fa’ all I could hear was ‘Cities’. ‘Fa Fa Fa’ has all the trademark Talking Heads styles like the jangly funk guitars chunking away against a driving disco rhythm, but what really grabbed me was the similarities of the chorus.

Led Zeppelin vs. Lindstrøm

In Through the Out Door Where You Go I Go Too

Led Zeppelin – ‘Carouselambra’

Lindstrøm – ‘Grand Ideas’ (edit)

There’s been a lot comparisons to past artists written about this record. Mostly referenced are Tangerine Dream, Cluster and even Steve Reich. To me it’s seems very Equinoxe-era Jean-Michel Jarre. I thought about posting some Jarre, but I couldn’t resist this awesome rip-off of Zepplin’s classic so-bad-it’s-great tune Carouselambra.
